JOB OPPORTUNITY: PROCUREMENT OFFICER (No. 1)
Steenbok Construction Limited is hiring a Procurement Officer. This is an opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to join our growing construction team.
The successful candidate will manage procurement activities, support tender submissions, source materials and services, and work with suppliers and project teams.
Procurement Officer Responsibilities
The Procurement Officer will be responsible for the following duties:
- Prepare and manage tender documents according to client requirements.
- Coordinate tender submissions and meet submission deadlines.
- Maintain accurate tender and procurement records.
- Prepare procurement plans based on project schedules.
- Source reliable suppliers and subcontractors.
- Request and compare supplier quotations.
- Negotiate prices, quality and payment terms.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders.
- Monitor stock levels and material requirements.
- Arrange the timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Support contract administration and procurement activities.
- Maintain supplier records and procurement databases.
- Prepare regular procurement reports.
- Work closely with project teams to control costs and delivery times.
- Ensure procurement activities follow company policies and contractual requirements.
Procurement Officer Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- A Diploma in Procurement and Supply, Purchasing and Supply, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- At least 2–3 years of procurement experience.
- Experience in the construction industry will be an advantage.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Good knowledge of procurement procedures.
- Knowledge of contract administration and inventory management.
- A valid National Registration Card (NRC).
- A clean driving licence will be an added advantage.
